Union Bank's Ad: The Best TV Commercial In Modern Age Nigeria

Best TV Commercial In Nigeria
A photo from the Union Bank's Enabling Success TV commercial

Perhaps one of the best Advert in Nigeria. The Union Bank commercial tagged "ENABLING SUCEESS" has a master class copy backed up with a well-meaning visual depiction. The voice-over artiste, Dede Mabiaku also aligned well in terms of the voice needed to explain the grieve in the heart of Nigerians currently (I wonder if it was his activist background that indicted the emotions that conveyed the message).

Time and Image advertising agencies were responsible for this brilliant idea. According to the Agency Creative Director, Akorede Zakariya opined that the advertisers seek something different from the conventional way that Advert ran. "The idea calls everyone [Nigerians] to responsibility"he said.

The commercial that was directed by Chris Dada was shot in Nigeria by Nigerians and some the major theme it touched were the aspect of Corruption, oppression, tyranny and lackadaisical act of Nigerians' toward Nigeria's common good.  The ad however enjoined Nigeria's not to give up on themselves, their dreams, their aspiration and also the country, encapsulating it all in it parting shot "Don't be an Uncle Thomas".

I doff my hat for this commercial. It is undoubtedly Nigeria's all time Modern Age Advert.

You might be thinking that Olawale Smart is here again, hyping this Commercial beyond what it is. Behold, I want you to watch the commercial and judge if it wasn't worth the accolades am giving it.
